Salute to Mbombela Stadium management

Stadia's management commemded for effectively utilising the facility.

I want to salute the Mbombela Stadium management and the local municipality for a job well done by ensuring that our stadium does not become a white elephant as compared to other 2010 stadiums.
Ever since the big games in 2010, this stadium has been busier than ever attracting big soccer teams to the venue because of the big crowds it attracts.

It has hosted the Nedbank final, the Afcon 2013 tournament, the 2010 Soccer World Cup games, as well as many other soccer games featuring Kaizer Chiefs and the last memorable last Saturday when Chiefs played their final game of the PSL here.
Who ever thought that the PSL would one day conclude its league here and do a trophy presentation when all of these scenarios we often see on television?

Who ever thought we would far surpass the likes of Gauteng, North West and KwaZulu-Natal and have cup finals featured here?
The Pumas having also made the stadium their home ground and their popularity is growing by the day.
Next month there’s the Springboks will take on Scotland here as well.

Who else to take the glory than our own stadium management and municipality who are giving them full support to use their creativity.
My appeal is for teams like Kaizer Chiefs not to undermine the support that we give them as people of Mpumalanga, but to give us more home games here as they bring in more revenue.
It’s about time that the stadium management negotiated with Chiefs to give us a share of the games here because they really know that it will be a profitable move.

That way, as supporters who directly contribute to their coffers, we can have a say as to who we want in the team.
Please, just empower Chiefs’ supporters and convince them to give us those games. We’re ready for them.
