kabokweni to have community radio

Even though the attendance was so poor the event that was organized as a way of fundraising for the community radio that is to be built proceeded. With the help of local Djs, Chrizozo, Mando, Lil Jack, kwaito and others they have maintained to keep the party goers dancing and still enjoyed the show.

According to Dj Thonsi the organizer of these events, the radio station will benefit everyone living in and around Kabokweni. “This will be a radio for everyone, and it will also create job opportunities for the youth of the community.” he said.

“Educational programmes will be a daily matter, we will every week have special shows for disabled people, to talk and open up about the challenges they face everyday and also to share ideas with others and build solid friendships.” said Dj thonsi.

The event was attended by South Africa’s best lady, Dj Zinhle who rocked the stage and performed her hit song “my name is”.

The community radio will make it easy for everyone who has announcements to make, can and deliver them in time, as they won’t have to drive or travel all the way to other radio stations.

“We want to tell stories from around Kabokweni in this radio station, and we want to give all Pastors the chance to preach the word of God and educate people spiritually, we want to groom people and we want people’s voices to change other people.” said Thonsi.
