Lira makes Mbombela feel good
Moneoa of “Love more than you” fame also graced the stage and performed some unknown tracks of her debut album
MUSIC lovers were treated to a night of sounds soothing the soul when Elements of Sound hosted musicians of soul.
Headlining the event was songbird, Lira who came through and made everybody attending feel good with her powerful voice and great performance. Though the night was not as great as it was supposed to and did not live up to its expectations or its hype.
The turn-out of people on the night was not of something to be expected or to take to the bank. Fears of prices of the tickets being the main reason to the small crowds, with the general ticket price sold at R150 and VIP at R650 and the empty chairs on both sections showed something that can be used on upcoming events in the province.
Organizers of big events should look in to consider all aspects when doing so, especially in small towns like Nelspruit, an understandable enough pricing, the right pricing and suitable venue that can house enough people that are targeted.
The night at Riverside Mall had great entertainment from Swazi Rhythm, a group based in Swaziland made the crowds go wild with their unique style of music and performance. The multi-talented members of the group all did solos then performed as a group.
Moneoa of “Love more than you” fame also graced the stage and performed some unknown tracks of her debut album. She was welcomed very well by the crowd who regardless of the venue not being full, still had the best of times listening and dancing to the music showcased on the night.
The crowd’s favourite was Mpumalanga’s own talented Afrotraction, real name Wandile Moya, who is affectionately known for soothing sounds and good lyrics with songs that are dubbed African classic love songs such as “Ngeke kulunge” and “Ngimtholile”.
He mesmerized all the women with his style of RnB mixed with soul then made everybody dance along to old songs before he made way for the songstress, Lira who brought the show to its climax with her immense talent and amazing stage presence.
“I am pleased with the overall turn-out of the event even though it did not go as I had planned with the attendence not being as high, but the night reported no incidents on Riverside’s premises or outside. The artists that performed said they are willing to join in the fun and perform again next year and I would like to thank everybody that was part of it and we will work on a bigger and better show next year,” said Sibusiso Sithole
