Third leg of Miss MP auditions on the cards
A definite date will be announced closer to the time, but only girls who have not yet auditionsed should attend.
MBOMBELA – The third leg of the 2014 Miss Mpumalanga auditions will be held during the first week of December at the Emnotweni Sun.
According to Mzimari Productions’ CEO, Gugu Nyarenda, “this is an opportunity for the girls who couldn’t attend the first two legs of the auditions because they have been busy with examinations at various tertiary institutions outside of the province.
“We had to honour their request as they view this pageant as a prestigious one and desperately want to be a part of it. I’ve discussed this with my judges and we all felt that they deserved to be given an opportunity.
“We have a cream of contestants in the province, some of whom we have already selected over the weekend on November 8 and 9. In order to make the competition more competitive, as the brand has grown in leaps and bounds, we also need to compliment it with the inclusion of the tertiary crew,” she explained.
A definite date will be announced closer to the time, but she emphasised that only girls who have not yet auditionsed should attend.
Meanwhile, more than 100 hopefuls attended last week’s auditions held at the Emnotweni Sun in Nelspruit and at the Protea Hotel in Emalahleni. This was in a bid to select the first top 30 contestants who will be engaged in the battle to go through to the top 15 who will vie for the title on April 13, 2014.
“I must be honest, the competition is tougher than in previous years. We have set ourselves a target to finally obtain a candidate that befits the current queen, Ntandoyenkosi Kunene and even surpasses her.
“We’re not compromising on that one, for sure. The judges are very strict and have upped their game, so I’m warning girls that there is no time for games – we need brainy girls who have the well-being of the province at heart and would be deserving ambassadors,” she concluded.
