Tikhontele High School emerge victorious
The school's team went home with a R8 000 cheque in the senior finals.
The 2013 Zomba Super Cup tournament has finally been concluded.
Tikhontele High School became this year’s champions when they defeated Lowveld High 2-0 in the senior phase at the KaBokweni Stadium last week Saturday.
In the junior finals Temba Primary School became the champions when they defeated Sukuma Primary 4-3 on penalties. The games were a resounding success. The tournament was a way of fighting criminal activities in schools. A total of 64 schools participated in the tournament which consisted of a junior and a senior phase.
After the preliminaries and group stages four teams from each phase made it to the finals where Tikhontele proved to be the stars of the day. Sukumani Primary faced of against Zwelisha Primary. In the losers’ finals in the senior phase, Sitintile High took on Khumbula High and in the junior phase, Mbokodvo Primary fought it out against Catfulani.
Tikhontele High School went home with a R8 000 cheque in the senior finals and in the junior finals Themba Primary also walked away with a R8 000.
