Pirates end 14-year title drought in Mbombela

Thalente Mbatha opened the scoring before an own goal by Ndumiso Ngiba sealed a historic triumph for Orlando Pirates FC as they finally ended Mamelodi Sundowns’ eight-year league dominance.

Orlando Pirates FC have been crowned the Betway Premiership Champions at the Mbombela Stadium today, May 23, after beating Orbit College FC 2-0.

Goals came from Thalente Mbatha in the closing stages of the first half in extra time and an own goal by Orbit College FC’s Ndumiso Ngiba sealed the score.
