Foundation hosts soccer tourney

"It’s not our first time we have hosted such games as we did it last year, and so far we are improving."

The Imbumba Foundation hosted an electrifying soccer tourney hosted over the festive seasons.

These games organised by this foundation for the youth in an attempt to discourage criminal behaviour proved a great success as a number of young people participated.

Speaking to this reporter the Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Richard Mabaso stated that sport is one of the important activities that unity people in the country and helps fight crime.

“We hosted the festive season games to keep young people busy, as we believe that sport is not only about having fun, but there’s more into it as young people who are part of the games are interacting with each other and share ideas.

Some of them are getting open to talk about the problems that they faced in life. The are lot of motivations that they get from being part of the games.

It’s not our first time we have hosted such games as we did it last year, and so far we are improving,” he explained.

He went on and indicated that even though they are only hosting soccer games but doesn’t mean that their focus is only on boys.

“We are not only focusing on boys but, we have soccer ladies team and it’s very interesting to see them communicating well with each other as they are coming from different villages and I want to indicate that these games also played a very significant role in identifying and helping those who have talent .

The province has talent that needs to be natured at an early age,” he concluded.

Not so long ago, the foundation hosted the All4One games at the Mbombela stadium, which also proved successful.
