Bondzeni received R100 000 for their efforts which will go towards the improvements at the school.

Bondzeni Secondary School were crowned the Mpumalanga Kay Motsepe champions. The finals were held at Hoƫrskool Rob Ferreira in White River recently.

Three teams contested the finals.

This was after St Marks International School, who was to represent Ehlanzeni Region, was disqualified.

Bondzeni from Bohlabelo beat both Sikhulile Secondary School from Nkangala Region and Thobelani Secondary School of Gert Sibande Region.

Bondzeni beat Thobelani 2-1 in the first match before they went on to beat Sikhulile 3-0 to top the group with six points.

Sikhule, who beat Thobelani 4-2, finished in second place with three points. Both Bondzeni and Sikhulile will now represent Mpumalanga in the Kay Motsepe Schools Cup national finals to be held in Gauteng from October 3 to 8.
