Mbombela United were crowned champions of the Gert Sibande District Municipality Cup after beating Witbank Spurs 2-1 in a final encounter that took place at AJ Swanepoel Stadium in Ermelo on Saturday.

Four teams – United, Spurs and Gert Sibande invitation sides – participated in the final. In the first match, United beat Gert Sibande A 4-0.
Spurs book their place in the final after beating Gert Sibande-B 1-0.

For their effort, Mbombela received R30 000, trophy and gold medals while Spurs was consoled with R15 000.
