Through the grapevine

Either way, it was fun. Thanks Delani Mofokeng, you are indeed a great host.

It is Women’s Month and we all know it is that time of the year when men think they are sidelined to the core. You’ll hear them sitting in their corners yapping about how they are not prioritised.

Truth is, yes vele you are not, and undoubtedly you will not have a day where you are celebrated anytime soon – especially when some of you behave the way you do. What Mduduzi Manana did was totally wrong, and there is absolutely no way to justify it. If someone says you’re gay and you lose it, it makes one wonder what he actually thinks about the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex community.

How disgusting of those who came to his defence! Just because he’s a deputy minister does not necessarily make him a saint. Bekawrongo u-mfo, finish and klaar. On a lighter note, let’s tell you what went down when Zodwa Wabantu invaded News Cafe last Friday. Maanda couldn’t keep his eyes off her. That look you gave her, priceless! Ngapha abanye tried so hard to fit in, busy whispering things to her, but Zodwa made it clear that she ain’t no celebrity.

You so-called celebs of this sleepy city should learn a thing or two from people like her. Oh and the place was packed to capacity with mostly men. Wonder if some of y’all made it home. Yes, maybe, no? Either way, it was fun. Thanks Delani Mofokeng, you are indeed a great host. To all the women, enjoy this month.
May the force be with you!
