Mbombela Development League: U13 and U15 teams keep fans on edge
The U15 Mbombela Development League, which started in April, is expected to wrap up by mid-November.
The U13 and U15 Mbombela Development League has been unpredictable, with teams keeping everyone on their toes.
After the games at Halls Sports Grounds on Saturday, October 4, the league standings changed completely.
In the U15 competition, the game between Mbombela City Stars and Sneakers Academy FC ended in a 2-2 draw, giving Mataffin Hotspurs a chance to climb the log with 20 points.
Mbombela City Stars had been on top of the league previously.

The battle is far from over, as Mpumalanga School of Excellence and TS Sporting FC still have games in hand; both are behind with 16 points each.
The fight for a top four spot is heating up, with City Stars and Clementine Sports Academy close on their heels.
TS Sporting and Hotspurs had an exciting match. Within the first 10 minutes, Hotspurs scored the opener, while TS Sporting struggled to keep pace in the first half.
In the second half, TS Sporting came back strong, dominating with possession and creating major chances.
Within the first five minutes, TS Sporting launched a counter and managed to find the equaliser. Both teams failed to convert further opportunities, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw, with the points shared.
The league, which started in April, is expected to wrap up by mid-November, with 10 teams in each age group. Irvin Ndlovu and Brighton Maduana run the league with the aim of creating competitive soccer.

Ndlovu said that with six games remaining to decide the champions, it is still unclear who will win.
“It is a development league, but there’s plenty of competition. I am looking forward to the next three weekends, as we might have an idea who will take the league by then.”
Ndlovu said looking at the current results it is clear no one wants to back down yet.
He said the boys are really keeping them on their toes, and he wished everyone well.
