1 712 new cases brings SA’s Covid-19 total to 730 548

Thus far, 19 585 people have died from the virus.

As of 4 November, the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in South Africa is 730 548.

According to the National Institute of Communicable Disease, 1 712 new cases were recorded since their last report.

The country recorded 46 more Covid-19 related deaths:

  • 24 from Eastern Cape
  • 9 from Gauteng
  • 3 from the Free State
  • 5 from Kwa Zulu-Natal
  • 1 from Northern Cape
  • 4 from Western Cape

Thus far, 19 585 people have died from the virus.

With 660 185 recoveries, the country’s recovery rate is at 90%. The NICD says 25 073 tests were conducted since their last report.

The cumulative number of tests conducted to date is 4 893 683, of which 2 818 285 were done by the private sector and 2 075 398 were done by the public sector.
