Suspects flee Roodepoort mall after jewellery store heist

Calm has returned to Clearwater Mall in Roodepoort after an armed robbery at a jewellery store on the ground floor yesterday, June 11.

Based on eye witness accounts, two suspects held up the employees of the store while two waited outside as scouts.

Gunshots rang out as the suspects fled the scene whereafter they hijacked a private security vehicle, making their escape.

Police were on scene and most stores closed their doors.
