WATCH: Police minister Bheki Cele releases the latest crime statistics

Cele will present the statistics of crimes that occurred between October 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021.

Police minister Bheki Cele will be releasing the latest quarterly crime statistics during a press conference in Cape Town this afternoon.

Earlier today, senior police management presented some statistics to parliament’s Portfolio on Police, revealing that murder has increased by 8.9% during the period under review, reported The Citizen.

During the presentation in parliament, it was revealed that a total of 6 859 murders were committed in the third quarter, while overall contact crimes decreased by 4%.
