Extension 24 residents in Middelburg are outraged by the slow progress of the search for the missing four-year-old boy that disappeared on Saturday in Extension 24.

Residents burnt tyres in protest on the N11 (Hendrina Road) last night. They say they are very unhappy with the response of the Middelburg police in finding Mpendulo (Mpesh) Ngcukani.

Mpendulo’s father says the police are giving him the run-around and that he was told to reopen a missing person’s case.

Mpendulo was wearing a Khul’unolwazi school jersey with grey military pants and navy blue slippers.

The children who were with him before he went missing says he got into a white vehicle.
