Gauteng cellphone thief gets eight years in prison
A young man, armed with a knife, robbed a man who was walking in the streets of Soweto in February.

The 22-year-old Nhlanhla Pesa was recently found guilty of robbery with a weapon, and subsequently sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment.
Pesa, who resides in Braamfischerville, Soweto, was positively identified as the suspect who robbed a man of his cellphone while walking on the streets on February 18.
Dobsonville SAPS followed up on information and managed to arrest Pesa.
After numerous court appearances, Pesa made his final appearance in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court to hear his fat.
Thorough investigation by the detectives meant that Pesa was handed down an eight year sentence and was found guilty by the court. He was further declared unfit to possess a firearm.
