The body of Wayne Henderson (42), who was reported missing by his father in Pretoria, was found by police on the R50 in Standerton, Mpumalanga, on Tuesday.

According to SAPS’ Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, Henderson was found covered in a duvet, half-naked, with his neck sliced.

“He was recovered by Standerton police after he was spotted on the R50, about 5km from Standerton, by a farm worker at about 03:00. The victim is believed to have been abducted in Hercules, Pretoria.”

Mohlala says Henderson was found near the vehicle he was reported missing in.

“On investigation, blood stains were found in the boot of the vehicle, a grey Renault Sandero. The deceased was found with his neck sliced open and a stab wound to his head.”

Henderson was positively identified by a family member.

Mohlala says the circumstances surrounding Henderson’s murder are unclear, however, the Standerton and Hercules police are investigating.
