Nelspruit police confiscate cocaine worth more than R4m
Cocaine worth millions was discovered in a trailer following a minor accident.
A 23-year-old man was arrested yesterday after he was found in possession of about 11kg of cocaine, worth more than R4m, when he caused a minor accident on the N4 in Valencia, Mbombela.
According to provincial police spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli, a white Kia light delivery vehicle towing a trailer was being driven on the N4 when the trailer somehow detached and caused a minor accident.
The Nelspruit SAPS went to the accident scene and noticed something suspicious about the trailer, says Mdhluli.
“They discovered eight crates of white powdered substances, which turned out to be cocaine.

“They immediately called their counterparts from the K9 Unit, as well as members of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigative Unit,” he says.
An inquiry was opened and the driver was taken in for further questioning.
The confiscated cargo will undergo testing.
According to police, the consignment could have been making its way to Gauteng.
