Suspected firearm training facility raided in Limpopo
An investigation is underway into an alleged firearm training facility following a raid by a multi-disciplinary law enforcement team.
The Limpopo Hawks says military-related training cannot be ruled out after an alleged firearm training facility was raided in Modimolle on Thursday.
Members of the Polokwane-based Serious Organised Crime Investigation Unit (Hawks) in collaboration with Public Order Police, the Local Criminal Record Centre, the Tactical Response Team and Modimolle Vispol raided a farm after the Hawks received a tip-off about a suspicious training camp, says Hawks spokesperson Warrant Officer Lethunya Mmuroa.

A sting operation was conducted and several firearms, including rifles and pistols, and ammunition were confiscated, says Mmuroa.
“The purpose of the training is not yet clear but military-related training cannot be ruled out,” he says.
No arrests were made, and an investigation is underway.
