Two suspects who were wanted in connection with murder, attempted murder, house robbery and robbery with a firearm cases were killed in a shoot-out with police in the Namibia area of Inanda, KZN, yesterday morning.

KZN police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda says members of the SAPS murder task team acted on intelligence about the suspects’ hide-out.

The suspects fired shots at police, resulting in a self-defence shoot-out, and two of the suspects were shot and killed.

Both house robberies, one robbery with a firearm and the attempted murder were all committed in Inanda this month, while the murder was committed in June 2024, says Netshiunda.

He says a firearm with one round of ammunition was found in the suspects’ possession, which will undergo ballistics testing to see if it can be linked to other crimes.
