Limpopo man arrested for alleged rape of two 8-year-olds
A man is alleged to have raped two children who went to his house for help with a school project.
A man accused of raping two eight-year-olds will appear in the Dennilton Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo today on two charges of rape.
The suspect (43) was arrested in Tambo village on Saturday after the community acted to apprehend him.
The complainant alleges she was at home when her uncle arrived and informed her that his daughter was raped.
“Upon talking to the victim, she was told that the known suspect lured her and her friend into his house and raped them. The two children went to the suspect’s house in need of assistance with a school project and he [allegedly] took advantage of them.
“The police were notified and two counts of rape were opened. The suspect was locked up,” says SAPS spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba.
Provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe hailed the arrest of the suspect and praised the community for their assistance.
“Police investigations continue,” Ledwaba says.
