Man murdered in Limpopo: Girlfriend arrested

A man who was found dead, with multiple stab wounds to his upper body, was declared dead by paramedics.

A woman (39), believed to be a foreign national, has been arrested in connection with the death of her boyfriend in Freedom Park in Phagameng, in the Modimolle policing area.

Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says the couple went to a local tavern last Saturday. The victim left the suspect at the tavern and went home.

The victim was found with stab wounds to his upper body outside their house the following day.

The police were notified and paramedics certified the victim dead at the scene.

A case of murder was opened, says Ledwaba.

He says preliminary investigations led to the arrest of the suspect as it’s believed that she and her partner had a heated conversation the previous night.

“The suspect and the victim are both foreign nationals. The suspect will appear before the local magistrate’s court soon. Investigations continue,” says Ledwaba.

Provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe condemned the incident and urged couples to seek professional counselling when they experience challenges in their relationship.
