Six Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) officers have been arrested and detained at the Boksburg SAPS.

According to an article published by Boksburg Advertiser, while information is sketchy at this point, the EMPD confirmed that one female and five male officers were today arrested by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate.

They were charged with robbery with aggravating circumstances, extortion and obstructing the course of Justice.
