Man gunned down in broad daylight at an Ekurhuleni taxi rank
Authorities are appealing to the public for information following the death of a man who was shot dead at a taxi rank.
A man who was shot at the Heidelberg Taxi Rank in Ekurhuleni on Sunday died at the scene.
Heidelberg/Nigel Heraut reports that the shooting occurred on Ueckermann Street at about 14:00.
According to eyewitnesses, there were several gunshots fired.
Authorities and other stakeholders, including the Heidelberg SAPS, AfriForum Heidelberg and emergency services, responded quickly to the scene.
The local police have opened an investigation, but the motive remains unknown.
The shooters fled the scene and remain at large.
