Police appeal for help after man shot on railway lines in Sebokeng

A man was shot in both legs on the Boiketlong railway lines, prompting police to launch an attempted murder investigation.

An attempted murder investigation is underway after a 28-year-old man was shot on the Boiketlong railway lines in Sebokeng on Tuesday.

According to Sedibeng Ster, Sebokeng police were summoned to the railway lines, where they found emergency medical services attending to the injured man.

“It is alleged that the victim was shot on both legs in the early hours. The reason behind the shooting was not yet disclosed as the victim was sedated and we (the police) were unable to obtain his statement,” says police spokesperson Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane.

Police have appealed to community members for any information that could assist with the investigation.
