Update: Light aircraft crashes into Hoërskool Alberton tuckshop during emergency landing
A pilot and a student walked away without injuries after an aircraft crash-landed at a school.
A light aircraft made an emergency landing on the rugby field at Hoërskool Alberton today, crashing into the school’s tuckshop.
Alberton Record reports that, according to Tikkie Macdonald, media liaison officer for the City of Ekurhuleni Emergency Services, the incident occurred at approximately 11:37.

“Firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene. Authorities confirmed that the instructor and student, who were conducting a final evaluation flight for a private pilot licence, experienced engine failure, forcing the emergency landing,” Macdonald says.
Macdonald says that, fortunately, both escaped unharmed.
The crash has been reported to the Civil Aviation Authority and is under investigation.
