Watch: Another vehicle into oncoming traffic near Mbombela?

A video circulating online appears to show a bus driving into oncoming traffic near Mbombela – the second such incident on the R40 in a week.

A video that started circulating on social media yesterday appears to show a Buscor bus in a precarious situation on the R40 near eBundu Lodge between White River and Mbombela – the same stretch of road where a white Ford Ranger overturned just days ago.

According to Lowvelder, the earlier incident, which occurred on Monday, showed a bakkie travelling in oncoming traffic before veering off the road and overturning in the bushes. Both occupants escaped with minor injuries, and ER24 paramedics confirmed no hospital treatment was required.

Authorities later said the driver may have been unconscious, with the passenger attempting to take control.

New video surfaces

In the latest clip, a Buscor bus is seen at nearly the exact location, travelling into oncoming traffic. However, some Facebook users have questioned the authenticity of the footage and Buscor has not confirmed the incident.

The company has stated that a formal response will be issued soon.

Attempts to contact the individual who posted the video have so far been unsuccessful.
