Nanny arrested over alleged abuse of girl (2) in KZN
Authorities are investigating a case of child abuse in Pinetown after a complaint was lodged by the parents of a two-year-old girl, allegedly involving a nanny.
The Pinetown police are urging local parents and guardians ‘to remain vigilant and to exercise due care when entrusting others with their children’.
This as the Pinetown SAPS Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) are investigating a case of child abuse reported to the police on Monday, reports Highway Mail.
It is alleged that the incident occurred last Friday in the Pinetown area.
The station’s communications officer Jennifer Naidu confirms that a common case of assault has been opened for investigation at the station after a complaint was lodged by the parents of the two-year-old girl.
“It is alleged that the child was assaulted by a nanny who reportedly threw a ball at the child. A suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident.
“The investigation is being handled by Warrant Officer Ethel Ndlovu. The case remains under investigation, and no findings or court outcomes have been finalised at this stage,” says Naidu.
She reminds parents and guardians that the safety and well-being of their children is of paramount importance.
