Police have arrested five people this weekend on separate charges following unrest in Asla Park between Friday (May 29) and yesterday (May 30).
According to Mossel Bay Advertiser, Southern Cape police spokesperson Warrant Officer Chris Spies said two people, aged 19 and 21, have been arrested on a charge of public violence, while three people, aged 21, 31, and 41, were arrested on charges of possession of suspected stolen property.
Suspected stolen property, murder investigations
Spies said the suspected stolen items are believed to have been taken from a property that was left vacant.
No arrests have been made in connection with the two murders in the early hours of Saturday.
Situation calm, police visibility continues
Spies said the situation is currently calm. He added that high police visibility will be maintained until the situation has normalised, with support from local law enforcement.
