Missing Johannesburg woman found safe

Search teams and community volunteers have been thanked after a Northcliff woman who was missing for two days was found safe.

Alex van Heerden (26), who was reported missing in Northcliff on August 5, has been found safe, bringing relief to her family, friends and the many people who assisted in the search, reports Northcliff Melville Times.

In an official statement issued today, (August 7), the Fairland Community Policing Forum (CPF) confirmed that Van Heerden had been located.

“We can confirm that Alex van Heerden has been found and is safe. We wish to thank all parties involved with the search,” the statement, issued by Fairland CPF Victim Support Unit representative Bhaai Cassim.

The statement added that no further information could be released at this stage as the matter remains under police investigation.
