VIDEO: BMW engulfed in flames
CCTV footage showing a BMW X6 on fire on the R40 across Standard Bank Riverside in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, has surfaced.
It is believed the driver was able to escape the luxury vehicle, and the fire was extinguished by employees from surrounding businesses on Saturday, Lowvelder reported.
The owner of the car, Midas Ndlovu said: “Although I cannot confirm what the cause of the fire was, I do know that the car’s fuel injectors were replaced when it was serviced this past week, and this may have caused the fire”.

In a separate incident, nearly 50 commuters had to find alternative transport after a bus they were travelling in caught fire on the Old Warmbaths Road, Hammanskraal, in northern Gauteng last month.

Tshwane Metro emergency services spokesperson Johan Pieterse said no one was injured in the fire.
“The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes,” said Pieterse.
The bus was moved to the side of the road to limit traffic disruptions.
