Shahiel Sewpujan ‘hit with blunt object’
Slain schoolboy Shahiel Sewpujan (9) was allegedly struck in the head with a blunt object, according to postmortem results.
It is also believed Sewpujan, who had gone missing three days before his body was found naked with injuries, had his mouth covered with duct tape.
Police later found a refuse bag containing clothes believed to have belonged to him.
The boy’s 31-year-old landlady and her mother are still the only two suspects in the murder.
The landlady appeared in the Verulam Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and was remanded in custody ahead of her February 17 bail hearing.
Her mother is believed to be in ICU at Albert Luthuli Hospital following an alleged suicide attempt, which happened a day before Sewpujan’s body was discovered.
