Reality show star denies hit-and-run involvement

Nape Phasha, a star on Vuzu’s reality show Rich Kids, has denied being involved in an accident that resulted in a motorcyclist being killed in Pretoria on Thursday evening.

Phasha took to Twitter to deny the allegations on Friday morning, Rekord East reported.

“This is false, and the implications are untrue (sic). However, I will release a statement,” he tweeted.

It is alleged the reality star hit and killed the motorcyclist before fleeing on the Garsfontein and Netcare roads intersection in Moreleta Park.

It is further alleged the star’s parents were at the scene and took him away apparently before the police got to the scene. An eyewitness, Kobie Delport, said he witnessed the accident take place.

“We were four witnesses that saw the Mercedes skip a red light. The light was green for the man on the bike, and the man in the car turned right into him.”

“I stopped and diverted traffic from the injured biker. Blood was streaming out of the helmet, and I knew it was maybe too late,” Delport said.

Police spokesperson Captain Coba Brits said a case of culpable homicide has been opened and that no arrests have been made.

However, Brits said the unnamed suspect did not flee the scene as initial rumours on social media indicated.
