Crispers chilli cheese-loaded fries
Crispers Chilli Cheese Fries are perfect for a quick snack, a light meal, or something tasty to put on the table when guests come around..
Crispers, with their ridged cut, hold on to toppings in the best way possible. They’re crunchy on the outside, soft inside, and sturdy enough to carry all that chilli and cheese without going soggy too quickly. Every bite has texture, making them perfect for piling high with flavour. Recipe compliments of McCain.
Ingredients
- 400 g McCain Crispers
- 1 tablespoon oil
Chilli topping:
- 200 g beef mince (or tinned lentils for vegetarian)
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon chilli flakes
- ½ tin chopped tomatoes
- Salt to taste
Cheese sauce:
- ½ cup grated cheddar
- ¼ cup milk or cream
Method
- Air fry McCain Crispers at 200°C for 15–18 minutes until golden
- Cook mince or lentils with oil, garlic, spices and tomatoes
- Simmer until thickened
- Melt cheese and milk in a pan or microwave to make cheese sauce
- Top Crispers with hot chilli mince and cheese sauce. Serve immediately
