New Ford Mustang unveiled
Ford has confirmed that production of the Mustang TLD Signature Edition will be limited to just 550 units.
Ford has whipped the wraps off its latest limited-edition Mustang. Developed in collaboration with Troy Lee Designs (TLD), a US action sports apparel and custom paint company, meet the Mustang TLD Signature Edition.
Only 550 examples will be made.
Exclusively available in Shadow Black paintwork, the TLD-designed Mustang package includes bespoke exterior decals comprising bright red, orange, yellow and purple hues. The decals also incorporate a graphic of the iconic pony badge.
‘Troy Lee Designs’ graphics are also present. The front grille features Sinister Bronze detailing – the latter hue also applied to the fore and aft badging and 19-inch alloy wheels. Stepping inside, the cabin is exclusively available in Carmine Red. A serialised plaque, reminiscent of the exterior decals, can be found on the dashboard.
“At Troy Lee Designs, we’re known for our paint shop, where we’ve painted helmets for some of the fastest racers in the world – from motocross and mountain biking to IndyCar and even Formula 1,” said Troy Lee, Founder of TLD.
“I love all the details we were able to achieve with the TLD Signature Edition package, but getting to work with the iconic Mustang pony and incorporate that into the design was really special,” said Lee.
Priced at $3 000, which translates to R51 360 at the current Rand-Dollar exchange rate, the TLD Signature Edition package is exclusively available with the EcBoost-powered Mustang, which is priced from $32 640 (R558 796.80) in the US.
The 2.3-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit, which has been discontinued in South Africa, produces 235kW and 475Nm of torque, delivered to the rear wheels via Ford’s familiar 10-speed automatic transmission.
