3 hidden beaches for a romantic getaway
Get ready for an unforgettable beach trip with one of these secluded destinations.
If you’ve had enough of winter and are looking for a beach escape to soak up the sun and enjoy a little down time without the crowds and away from the coastal tourist traps…we’ve got three secluded beaches that offer all the feels without the masses:
- Playa del Amor (Hidden Beach), Mexico
Tucked away in the Marieta Islands near Puerto Vallarta, Playa del Amor is a secret beach hidden within a crater, accessible only by swimming through a water tunnel. Its unique setting, with crystal-clear waters and a naturally lit cavern, makes it an extraordinary romantic hideaway. But, be warned, you need to check the tides before you head through the water tunnel, as it’s only accessible during low tide. Also, to protect the fragile ecosystem, only 100 people a day are permitted onto the beach and the islands are designated a UNESCO MAB Biosphere Reserve.
- Whitehaven Beach, Australia
Located in the Whitsunday Islands, Whitehaven Beach is known for its pristine white silica sands and turquoise waters. The only way to get to this untouched paradise is by boat or seaplane, which means you can enjoy couples privacy amidst stunning natural beauty, perfect for a dreamy day of sunbathing and picnicking.
- Anse Georgette, Seychelles
Often overshadowed by its famous neighbour Anse Lazio, Anse Georgette on Praslin Island remains a hidden gem. Its powdery white sands, lush tropical backdrop, and crystal-clear waters create an idyllic setting for couples seeking tranquillity and romance.
