Supernatural 8

The thrilling journey with the Winchester Brothers continues in Season Eight of Supernatural.

It has been seven years since Sam and Dean started battling demons and sacrificed themselves to stop the Devil from taking over heaven, and stopping the Apocalypse from happening.

In season seven they fought one of their worst enemies, the Leviathan, a highly adaptable, seemingly unkillable enemy that takes the form of billionaire Dick Roman.

In their attempt at killing the Leviathan, Dean and Castiel, the angel, are unexpectedly swept into Purgatory.

In season eight, we see Dean returning from Purgatory, and reconnecting with his brother, who has fallen in love and started a life with someone.

But their unexpected reunion causes friction between the brothers, as Sam struggles to let go of his new life, and to take up arms with Dean, to “get back to business”.

In this season the brothers struggle with their inner demons and make a shocking discovery that will lead them towards a destiny neither of them would expect.

If only they could come to terms about whether they are going through it together, or will separate for good.

It is bipolar in its execution. However, no matter how you feel about this season, it certainly is entertaining, but leaves you with a shocking ending.

Can’t wait to see what happens next.

Rating: 7/10.

The Vampire Diaries 4

The Vampire Diaries returns for its fourth season, peaking at expectations for Elena and Damon to become a couple.

Vampires are everywhere, and almost the entire cast has been turned into vampires at this point. After an accident in the finale of season three, Elena awakens and finds that she is transitioning into a vampire, and then has to come to terms with her new life.

Brothers, Stefan and Damon are torn by this, but despite all the nightmares that they and the nearest and dearest in Mystic Falls have faced, they continue to fight for a cure for Elena.

Elena and her friends enter into the final stretch of high school before graduation sends them off on different paths.

They feel the bond to their home town of Mystic Falls take on a deeper meaning when a new, mysterious villain is introduced, who seems intent on destroying it.

The season allows for some long-awaited moments, but continuously plays on the viewer’s feelings surrounding the love between Damon and Elena and Stefan and Elena.

Rating: 8/10.
