The easiest spiced nectarine crumble

If you love a fruit dessert as much as we do, this recipe for spiced nectarine crumble is sure to be a hit.

This nectarine crumble is the ultimate summer dessert, featuring perfectly ripe nectarines baked to juicy perfection and topped with a layer of delicious, buttery crumble. Pairs with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream or a dollop of fresh cream. Recipe compliments of Juicy Delicious.

 

Serves: 4 – 6 | Prep time: 20 minutes | Cook time: 30 minutes | Total time: 50 minutes

 

Ingredients

Crumble topping

  • ½ cup flour
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 100g cold butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Nectarine streusel

  • 8 nectarines, cored and sliced in eighth’s
  • ½ cup soft brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 orange, zest and juice

Method

Crumble

  1. Combine flour and sugar together. Add cold butter and rub between fingers until crumbs or clusters form. Add vanilla extract, incorporate well and set aside.

Nectarine streusel

  1. In a baking dish add prepared nectarines, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger vanilla, orange zest and juice.
  2. Mix until everything is well combined.
  3. Add crumble topping and bake for 30-35 minutes at 180°C.
  4. Topping should be golden brown and fruit bubbling around the edges.
  5. Serve warm with fresh cream or vanilla ice-cream
