Laager rooibos immune booster with citrus and ginger

Ginger and chilli add warmth and support digestion, citrus contributes vitamin C, and rooibos keeps the drink naturally caffeine-free.

This rooibos drink is brewed with fresh ginger, citrus and chilli, then sweetened lightly with honey. It’s quick to make and easy to adjust, depending on what you have and how strong you want it. Recipe compliments of Joekels.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Laager Citrus and Ginger Rooibos tea
  • 2 small chillies
  • 2 limes or lemons, sliced
  • Knob of fresh ginger, sliced
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • Handful of fresh mint leaves

Method

  1. Add the rooibos tea, chillies, citrus, ginger, honey and mint to a small pot.
  2. Bring to a gentle simmer and brew for 7 to 10 minutes.
  3. Taste and adjust the sweetness if needed.
  4. Strain if you prefer, then serve warm.
