Crispy air fryer Babybel cheese bites

Babybel cheese bites are great for after-school snacks, get-togethers or when you just want something warm and cheesy without using the oven.

Babybel cheese bites are crunchy on the outside, soft and gooey in the middle and ridiculously easy to make. With just a few pantry staples and an air fryer, you can turn a pack of Babybels into the kind of party nibble everyone hovers around.

Ingredients

  • 50 g plain flour
  • 1 pack Babybel cheese, 6 individual portions
  • 1 large egg
  • 50 g breadcrumbs
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Method

  1. Remove the plastic and wax coating from each Babybel.
  2. Set up three shallow bowls. Place the flour in one, whisk the egg in another and mix the breadcrumbs with the garlic, paprika, salt and pepper in the third.
  3. Roll each Babybel in the flour, dip into the egg and then coat well in the seasoned breadcrumbs.
  4. Repeat until all the cheeses are evenly coated.
  5. Place the coated Babybels into the air fryer basket, leaving space between each one.
  6. Air fry at 180°C for 4 to 5 minutes, or until golden and crisp on the outside.
  7. Serve immediately while warm and gooey inside.
