Another cash-in-transit robbery in KwaDukuza yesterday marked the second heist in the area within three days.

A security guard was shot and injured and his colleague was assaulted during a cash-in-transit robbery on the R74 in KwaDukuza, KZN, yesterday.

According to an article published by North Coast Courier, Samantha Meyrick from IPSS Medical Rescue says both officers suffered moderate injuries and were transported to a medical facility for treatment.

The 50-year-old guard was shot in the lower leg, while his 46-year-old colleague was physically attacked.

This marks the second cash-in-transit heist in the area within three days.

The latest incident follows a robbery on the R102 between Mandeni and Gingindlovu on Saturday, where criminals escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.
