2 home invasions shock Pretoria

North of Pretoria rocked by two home invasions on the same day.

Two home invasions on Wednesday in the northern parts of Pretoria have shocked the local community, Pretoria Rekord reports.

Attack 1

In the first incident, two elderly people were attacked in their home in the evening.

“Two assailants beat the old man against his head with a firearm which resulted in significant bleeding on the scene,” said Kameeldrift East CPF spokesperson Petrus Nel.

“The wife was also kicked and beaten quite badly. Luckily, their injuries are not critical.”

The attackers made off with the couple’s car, cellphones, cash and other household items.

According to Advanced Paramedic Assist (APA) operational manager Johan Swart, the man’s firearm was also stolen by the assailants.

The elderly couple refused to go to hospital due to medical costs, but were tended to by family members who took them to a doctor.

Attack 2

In a separate attack in Bosveldpark, just off Moloto Road in the far northern parts of Pretoria, another couple was attacked in their home.

“These victims were fortunate as they were not harmed although the assailants threatened to harm the wife,” Nel told Pretoria Rekord.

“The couple had some belongings and also a vehicle stolen.”

Nel said crime in the northern parts of Pretoria was “getting out of control”.

“We urge people to always keep their guard up and be safe,” he said.
