2 pedestrians killed by a truck in Kempton Park
One female patient was found lying under the truck while the second was lying on the pavement next to the tail trailer of the truck.
Two female pedestrians were killed when they were hit by an articulated truck at the intersection of Koedoe Avenue and P91 in Birchleigh, Kempton Park on January 6.
They were declared dead on scene by paramedics.
Kempton Park Fire Station’s rescue team received a call at around 9.30am and responded.
Ekurhuleni Emergency Services spokesperson William Ntladi said when the emergency services arrived, one woman was found lying under the truck while the second was lying on the pavement next to the tail trailer of the truck.
The truck driver escaped with no injuries.
Ntladi said the cause of the crash is not known and investigations by the City’s traffic officers and SAPS are underway.
