2 suspects to appear in court for teen’s murder in Uitsig

Ravensmead detectives are probing murder and attempted murder charges after a boy was killed and two others were injured during a robbery in the Western Cape.

Two men are expected to appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court today after a 17-year-old boy was killed during a robbery on Saturday.  

The incident occurred at the corner of Malva and Petunia streets in Uitsig on the outskirts of Cape Town at 18:15. 

Constable Ndakhe Gwala, the spokesperson for the Western Cape police, says  
Ravensmead detectives are investigating a case of murder and two counts of attempted murder. 

Gwala says, according to reports, two men attempted to rob three boys, aged 16, 17 and 25. 

“One of the suspects stabbed the victims and the 17-year-old boy succumbed to the injuries,” she adds.  

Gwala says the two suspects were arrested and are due to appear in court today.
