Six people were confirmed dead at the scene of a head-on collision between a bakkie and a truck yesterday morning.
The Limpopo Department of Transport reports that the collision occurred on the stretch of road commonly known as the Manyathela curve, between the Sasol garage and the Baobab Toll Plaza on the N1.29 north, in the Vhembe District.
Transport spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene says the six people who died include a 35-year-old driver, four passengers between the ages of eight and 15, and an infant.
“Law enforcement officers at the scene cite speeding as a possible cause of the crash,” her statement reads.
