6 killed, 1 critical in late-night Muldersdrift crash

Authorities are investigating a devastating collision that claimed several lives, with emergency teams working late into the night at the scene.

Two bakkies collided on Beyers Naudé Drive in Muldersdrift last night, leaving six people dead and one critically injured.

Krugersdorp News reports that, according to Sterkfontein EMS commander André Raijmakers, the crash was a partial head-on collision.

Emergency services received the call just after 20:00.

“Out of the seven patients, only one survived and was transported to the hospital in critical condition,” he said.

He added that multiple services responded to the scene, including Gauteng Provincial Government EMS, private ambulances, Mogale Fire and Rescue, police and Mogale Public Safety.

“The crash is still under investigation and additional information is limited at this time,” he said.
