About 50 people injured in several accidents on misty N12

Paramedics went from one collision to the next, assessing and treating the patients.

About 50 people were left injured on Monday morning following numerous collisions on the N12 between the Etwatwa and Putfontein Road turn-off in Benoni.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said ER24 paramedics along with several other services responded to the scene after hearing reports of numerous collisions, apparently caused by heavy mist, the Kempton Express reports.

Upon arrival, paramedics found there had been several collisions along the N12, some involving minibus taxis.

Paramedics went from one collision to the next, assessing and treating the patients.

ER24 paramedics treated and transported 22 patients, their injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Other services on the scene treated and transported about 30 other patients to various hospitals, Meiring said.
