Accused child killer’s case postponed for plea proceedings
Tiffany Nicole Meek is accused of murdering her son, Jayden-Lee, in Fleurhof, Roodepoort and intends to plead guilty to some of the charges.
The case of murder accused Tiffany Nicole Meek (32) has been postponed to March 25 for plea proceedings.
Roodepoort Record reports that Meek appeared in the Johannesburg High Court yesterday, which is currently sitting at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.
According to a statement shared with the Roodepoort Record by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the postponement follows an approach by the defence to the state indicating that Meek intends to plead guilty to some of the charges.
Meek is accused of murdering her son, Jayden-Lee Meek, who she reported missing in May 2025.
Jayden’s lifeless body was discovered the following morning next to a stairway in the complex where they lived.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the child had returned from school and was allegedly killed inside the flat.
It is further alleged that the accused staged the scene in an attempt to mislead authorities.
The matter was previously heard in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court before being transferred to the high court due to its seriousness.
An additional charge was added during Meek’s first High Court appearance in November.
She now faces five charges:
- Murder
- defeating or obstructing the administration of justice
- crimen injuria
- attempting to defeat or obstruct the course of justice
- child abuse or negligence
Meek remains in custody and has now spent eight months behind bars.
