Alleged KZN hostel theft ends in tragedy: 2 in court for murder
A man accused of stealing duvets and other items from a Glencoe hostel was allegedly tracked down and killed, with two accused remanded in custody.
Two men accused of murdering a man whose body was found in a field in Glencoe appeared briefly in the Glencoe Magistrate’s Court in KZN today (July 2), reports Northern Natal Courier.
Lloyd Kgotshane, chairperson of the uMzinyathi District Community Police Forum and Sandile Thole are charged with the murder of a man identified at this stage only as Mncube.
The victim’s body was discovered last week Tuesday (June 23) next to the Glencoe abattoir. Following a swift investigation, Glencoe detectives tracked down and arrested two suspects.
Accused remanded pending bail application
It is alleged that the deceased had been accused of stealing duvets and other items from a hostel in Glencoe before he was traced by the suspects.
Both men were remanded in custody, and the case has been postponed to July 14 for a formal bail application.
The case remains under active police investigation.
