Bees attack man after crash

A man is recovering after a swarm of bees attacked him following a crash into a brick wall in Garsfontein, in the east of Pretoria.

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Santi Steinmann said paramedics arrived at the scene on Lancelot Road and found the vehicle covered in bricks, Rekord East reported.

“The driver was attacked by a swarm of bees straight after the crash,” she said.

“Upon assessment of the driver, paramedics found the man to be in a serious condition,”

Steinmann added the man was taken to hospital after being treated on the scene.

Last month, a municipal worker died after being stung by a swarm of bees in a field in Chatsworth, Durban.

The unidentified man, believed to have been in his 40s, had reportedly been bleeding from his nose and had a lot of bees on him.

In December, two boys were found dead in a dam in Uitenhage, Eastern Cape, after they tried to escape a swarm of bees.

The boys had reportedly gone for a walk on when a swarm of bees attacked them and they jumped into the dam.
